Selected for publication by a panel from publishing and game design, these stories will make you laugh, cry, shiver and think. Ghost stories, adventures, comic capers sit alongside high and low fantasy, ecological disasters, virulent epidemics and mind-twisting time-travel.

The stories were created using inklewriter, a free site for writing and sharing interactive stories. They were selected from entrants to the 2012 Future Voices competition which attracted entries from over 60 countries.

Sound plays even when muted
The stories are nice and the interface is well done, but I find it really annoying that sound plays even when I mute the iphones volume. Its too loud and only gets louder if the volume is actually turned up! Sounds are great when I want them, but if Im trying to read someplace quiet I cant do it! Iphone 6, ios 8, please fix.
Great introduction to interactive books
This is a great introduction to inkles brand of interactive books. The interface is good and is well suited for touch screens. There is a wide variety of stories on display here so everyone should be able to find something that resonates with them. Ive only read the first story (Mara) ad while the story itself was quite engaging, I encountered some bugs in the decision tree. Certain choices would cause the narrative to loop back to a previous point, essentially locking the reader in an endless loop unless aside rent choice was made. Coincidentally Ive encountered similar bugs in inkles other title, Down Among The Dead Men. These are disappointing to see and jarring when encountered, marring what is otherwise an excellent experience. Inkle doesnt seem to be in any hurry to address, or acknowledge, these. This app would rate higher if these bugs would be addressed. Additional options such as better control over the sound, font size, and colour themes (similar to what iBooks has, for example) would further improve this title.
Amazing
This is fantastic, as are the stories, giving the reader the opportunity to insert his or her choice within these short stories changes their depth in a way I wasnt prepared for, excited to take them time to sit down and read the rest of them, thanks for putting this together, I think I might write my own version of this now.
Good revival of an old idea
When I was a kid I loved the "make your own story" books, so I found myself attracted to this app in a very real and nostalgic way. Ive read two of the stories thus far (rereading with every possible choice, just as I did when I was younger) and Im almost hesitant to read on, I dont want it to end too quickly :) I hope this catches on and more people show an interest. It would be a shame if this falls to the wayside. Great app, so far, great stories too!
Would you...
Could you guys a tinkle studios make an inklewriter iOS app? :)
